Hi, I’m Katherine, a freelance dramaturg and researcher. I collaborate with directors, writers, and actors to bring depth, clarity, and reliable information to their projects.
When you hire me, you can rest assured that I’ll conduct thorough research for your project and produce easy-to-understand research summaries, detailed glossaries, and appendixes as necessary. I'll also be available for follow-up questions, table reads, and answering actor questions throughout the rehearsal process.
My love of theatre started early in life, when I became curious to understand how movies and stage productions were put together. As a teenager, I had the opportunity to attend Mississippi School of the Arts, a residential school for artistic high schoolers.
At MSA, I fell in love with dramaturgy, and so pursued my bachelor’s and master’s degree in order to prepare myself for a life in the field.
After earning my Master’s, I moved to Chicago, where I’ve worked with numerous storefront theatres and production companies, including Victory Gardens, Green Shirt, Odd’s Bodkins, and LezFest of Pride Film & Plays.
Outside of theatre, I also work as a freelance reader and researcher for novels and other creative projects.
